Knowledge, Innovation and Science Technology Park (KIST) Park
Strategically located near other technology parks, business hubs and transport systems in the CALABARZON Region, the Batangas State U KIST Park clearly serves as the top location for technology transfer and commercialization in the Philippines. Envisioned as a premiere seedbed and enclave for technological innovation in the country, it will nurture and spur the growth of new high-tech firms, facilitate the transfer of university know-how to locator-companies, encourage the development of faculty or student-based spin-offs and stimulate the development of innovative products and processes. The KIST Park also aims to promote industrial R&D, attract foreign investments in higher value-added activities, and accelerate the country’s transition from a labor-intensive economy to a knowledge-intensive one.
PEZA-registered enterprises at the KIST Park will tremendously benefit from the high-value intellectual capital and physical resources of Batangas State University. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Environment Research (STEER) Hub, for example, offers a wide range of Research and Development services through the Center for Technopreneurship and Innovation, Manufacturing Research Center: LIKHA FabLab, Electronic Systems Research Center, Alternative Energy Research Center, ICT Research Center, Innovation and Technology Support Office, and Material Science and Testing Research Center. The university’s corps of science, technology and engineering faculty is complemented by faculty in the humanities, creative design, and social sciences which are just as fundamental to the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Potential locators will be welcome to transition at the STEER Hub.
