Project Horse Power is finalist in the 2016 Sikat Design Challenge

Team Crater of Batangas State University was invited for a “final pitch” of their Project Horse Power,a biomass power system designed for the Taal, Batangas community,during the “National Finals: Presentation and Awarding Ceremony” of the 2016 Sikat Design Challenge, held at the Conference Hall, 5/F Rockwell Business Center Tower 3, Ortigas, Pasig City, on July 13, 2017.


The team, handled by Engr. Rejie C. Magnaye, faculty adviser and Department Chairperson of the Chemical and Food Engineering Department, together with BS ChE students namely Mark Louell V. Gandola, John Romar C. Panopio, Rolando G. Sarmiento III, Ann Lisette M. Geron, and Drexler B. Lacdao, made it to the Ten National Finalists after being selected among a number of entries during the regional screening.


The said event was administered by the Sikat Solar Challenge Foundation, Inc. (SSCFI), spearheaded by their president, Dr. Arthur A. De Guia, in the vision of harnessing renewable energy to uplift the life of the people in the rural sector.
