ABET – EAC accredits six (6) engineering programs of BatSU

The six engineering programs of the College of Engineering, Architecture & Fine Arts (CEAFA) are now ABET-EAC accredited. The accreditation was given after the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET conducted an evaluation of the six programs last November 28 – 30, 2016. These programs, offered at Pablo Borbon Main II, are BS Chemical Engineering, BS Civil Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Industrial Engineering and BS Mechanical Engineering. The evaluation process is designed to advance and assure the quality of professional education. This achievement makes BatSU the first state university in the Philippines to have programs accredited by ABET – a non-profit, non-governmental organization in the United States of America recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and composed of more than 2,200 experts from industry, academia and government.

With ABET accreditation, students, employers and the community and society whom the university serves can be confident that these accredited programs meet the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.

Information about the list of accredited programs at Batangas State University will be listed in the forthcoming ABET Accreditation Yearbook and on the ABET website (www.abet.org).
