Red Spartan organizational officers from 4 of 11 BatStateU Campuses namely PB Main I, PB Main 2, Mabini and Lobo, gathered together with the University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo for a ‘Kapihan’ session held at the Amphitheater, 4th floor, CITE Building, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, February 7, 2020 10:00 AM.
The University President called for this session to directly communicate and check the holistic journey of the students most especially their concerns that can possibly affect academic performance, and discuss the approach and mitigations to be done by the management.
The points voiced out by the students mainly focused on three major things: academic, structural and buildings, and supplies and equipment concerns. The university president promised to attend to all of these concerns by coordinating with the respective college deans and other university officials to address, monitor and do necessary works for all of it. He focused attention in reminding the student leaders to be stewards in helping the university at their own efforts. Appreciated also are suggestions, proposals and other ideas for the advancement of learning. He also urged the student leaders to be a partner and explore opportunities outside the classrooms where they can help and contribute to BatStateU.
Student regent Arvin Lloyd Atienza closed the forum with a promise to the President, that as young leaders, they will strive harder to be a part of the solution, shape future discourses to be transformative, lively and progressive and be an instrument to the betterment of the Batangas State University.
