As part of the university’s mission of providing a conducive learning environment for its academic community, BatStateU Lobo officially launched its three-storey Higher Education Building on August 15, 2019 during its blessing and inauguration ceremony.
The building— with a total floor area of 840 square meters— houses three classrooms, two laboratories, a multi-media room, a faculty room, a clinic, and a library for students and faculty members to utilize.
University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo and Hon. Gaudioso R. Manalo, Mayor of the Municipality of Lobo, led the ribbon cutting and marker unveiling ceremonies with university officials and external partners in Lobo. Rev. Fr. Joseph Mendoza, on the other hand, led the blessing of building facilities.
Dr. Ronquillo, in his message, expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of Lobo for supporting the university towards the realization of its goals. These include the establishment of the first marine biodiversity research center in the region named as VIP CORALS (Verde Island Passage Center for Oceanographic Research and Aquatic Life Sciences), which is now approved by the University’s Board of Regents for construction in BatStateU Lobo. The president also shared his commitment to their partnership with Lobo and assured its officials and residents of the students’ continuous development.
Mayor Manalo also gave his inspirational message where he shared the essence of education among youth. He also extended his gratitude to the community of BatStateU for the opportunities it offered to the Municipality of Lobo.
SSC Vice President Mr. Jun Erik Magnaye and PTCA President Mr. Ronnie Zaraspe also delivered their message of gratitude for the university.
In the closing program, Executive Director for BatStateU Lobo Atty. Alvin R. De Silva, also thanked the university administrators for the new blessing given to BatStateU Lobo. He also appealed to the students to be good stewards of the facilities that the university has provided.
Also present were: Hon. Danny Perez, General Manager of Lobo Water District; Hon. Edwin Salazar, Barangay Captain of Masaguitsit, Lobo; Hon. Romeo Sulit, Representative of the Sangguniang Bayan ng Lobo; and PCPI Jonel D. Pintor of PNP Lobo.
