Batangas State University signed a memorandum of agreement with Batangas health-care practitioners and organizations on July 29, 2019 to strengthen its referral system that shall provide its students further assistance on mental health concerns. This was held at the Lecture Room, International Affairs Office, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City.
During the program, BatStateU President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo expressed his gratitude to the university’s newest partners for their support towards its goal of ensuring the holistic development of its students. He also shared his hopes for a successful and collaborative partnership that will lead to greater developments for students.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kristine Bautista of the Philippine Mental Health Association Lipa-Batangas Chapter shared her impressions for the said partnership that according to her is very timely as the cases of mental health issues continuously rises in the province. She recognized the university’s efforts in recognizing the importance of mental health as she assures them of her commitment to their partnership.
Participating practitioners & organization/agencies include Ms. Imelda P. Morales-Martin, a psychiatrist; Mr. Edgardo B. Caraan, Jr., an Academic Consultant for Special Education Department at Sunhill Development Education; Dr. Lida C. Landicho, a psychologist from Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas; Dr. Lalaine Alba, an obstetrician-gynecologist; Mr. Ervin Salupare, an Educational Diagnostician/Consultant; Philippine Mental Health Association Lipa-Batangas Chapter; and The Nazareth Formation House.
The MOA signing was made possible thru the efforts of the Guidance and Counseling Office headed by Dr. Lucille D. Evangelista, Director for Student Affairs and Services, and Asst. Prof. Renan T. Mallari, Asst. Director for Guidance and Counseling.
