Students, Employees & Retirees honored at BatStateU Awards Night 2019

BatStateU students, employees and retirees were given recognition at the Gov. Feliciano “Sanoy” Leviste Memorial Gymnasium, Pablo Borbon Main (PBM) I, Batangas City on March 22, during the BatStateU Awards Night 2019.

On that evening, a total of 112 teaching and non-teaching personnel received their service awards to acknowledge their loyalty and commitment to BatStateU.

The awarding of the 2019 Ten Outstanding Students Awards also took place to recognize students who have exhibited excellence in the areas of academics, leadership and community outreach. Mr. Glen H. Tampis, a BS Customs Administration student from the College of Accountancy, Business, Economics and International Hospitality Management of PBM I, topped this year’s search.

“In this hall we have the great men and women who helped shape our university” University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo said in his welcome remarks as he expressed his gratitude to the awardees for their commitment to serve. “This university will not be as great as what it is now if not because of you” he added.

22 retirees were also honored during the program. Assoc. Prof. Romeo C. De Castro, former Executive Director for BatStateU Rosario and San Juan delivered a speech on behalf of the faculty retirees.

“The best years of our career might be even the best years of our lives” he said sharing how proud he was to become part of the university which he served for more than 30 years. He also imparted among his fellow retirees inspirational insights about creating new beginnings after retirement. He ended his speech extending his warm wishes to the BatStateU community.

Meanwhile, former Director for Financial Services Mrs. Lolita M. Atienza, served as the representative for the non-teaching staff. In her speech, she thanked the university for the support given to her and shared some of the unforgettable experiences she had during her 16-year journey with BatStateU.
