Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, Kaohsiung visited Batangas State University on January 25 to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership. The meeting was graced by delegates from Southern Taiwan Universities and Industries which took place at the Lecture Room, International Affairs Office, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City.
Said visit is part of the association’s objective to seek international university-industry linkages, educational collaborations, university social responsibility projects and research lab networking in Metro Manila and CALABARZON region. This aims to bond Taiwan and the Philippines together and soar higher through academic, educational and training collaborations.
VP for External Affairs and ICT Services Prof. Rogelio A. Antenor, in his opening remarks, shared the university’s goal to boost internationalization through building sustainable and comprehensive partnerships in different areas. He also emphasized the university’s willingness to strengthen its relationship with universities and industries in Taiwan, as one of the neighbouring countries of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the President and the Executive Director for Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, Kaohsiung, Dr. Yuan-Hsiang Chu and Dr. Tim Wu also took their time to express their deepest gratitude to BatStateU and extend their hopes for fruitful collaborations.
Each delegate had their own BatStateU counterparts composed of deans and associate deans to easily determine possible areas for collaboration. The discussion focused on the fields of research and development, engineering, marine science, tourism, psychology, business administration, nursing and computer science.
