Five BatStateU programs face Level IV Phase I accreditation by AACCUP

Five programs of Batangas State University underwent Level IV Phase I accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on November 19-23, 2018 held at BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main II, Batangas City.

BS Civil Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering and Bachelor of Industrial Technology were the programs assessed by the AACCUP survey team. These programs were evaluated based on the following areas: Area I (Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives); Area II (Faculty); Area III (Curriculum and Instruction); Area IV (Support to Students); Area V (Research), Area VI (Extension and Community Involvement); Area VII (Library); Area VIII (Physical Plant and Facilities); Area IX (Laboratories); and Area X (Administration).

During the opening program, the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Erma B. Quinay, imparted the university’s strong commitment to quality education, making sure that all its programs are at par with the international standards. Survey Team Coordinator Dr. Helen F. Delos Santos, on the other hand, gave the statement of purpose and introduced the members of the team which include AACCUP Executive Director Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, as the consultant.

According to Dr. Delos Santos, each program must have a minimum grand mean of 4.50 with 5.00 as the maximum, to qualify for Level IV status.

Meanwhile, University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo expressed his deepest gratitude to the AACCUP team for developing a culture of continuous improvement within the university. The president also delivered a message of gratitude to the academic community, acknowledging their efforts in ensuring the success of the accreditation visit.

Results of the survey visit are yet to be announced by the AACCUP.
