Batangas State University has officially received its ISO 9001:2015 certification from TÜV Rheinland Philippines, Inc., after surpassing the first surveillance audit conducted on September 4, 2018 at four BatStateU campuses: Pablo Borbon Main I and II, ARASOF-Nasugbu and JPLPC-Malvar. The ISO certification covers the scope of design, development and implementation of higher education services.
Ms. Jean Laguitao, Mr. Hilario Capili, Mr. Lionell Aala, and Ms. Elisa Cruz were among the auditors sent by BatStateU’s external certification body to lead the surveillance visit.
The university incurred zero non-conformity and has been regarded with positive feedbacks on its curricular design and development. According to Ms. Laguitao (Audit Leader), the university has displayed its full commitment to continuous improvement in providing efficient services to its clients. High rating for customer satisfaction was also maintained with zero complaints recorded.
University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, congratulated all the members of the academic community in his speech during the closing program. He recognized the joint efforts of Prof. Rogelio A. Antenor, University ISO Focal Person, Asst. Prof. Jovito P. Permante, JPLPC-Malvar ISO Focal Person, Assoc. Prof. Erwin A. Caparas, ARASOF-Nasugbu ISO Focal Person, Dr. Michael C. Godoy, University Lead Auditor, Engr. Mario G. Bukas, Documents Controller and the staff of the Quality Assurance Office, in helping the university in the process of transitioning from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015, for less than a year of preparation.
“The university’s commitment of providing quality service does not end here” said Dr. Ronquillo. Upon the concession of the certificate, he encouraged the academic community to deliver genuine services without expecting anything in return. At the end of his speech, the president uttered a message of gratitude to Ms. Helen A. Evalle, ISO Consultant for sharing her expertise on quality assurance.
ISO 9001:2015, is the latest set of standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which is based on a number of management principles including customer focus, continual improvement, participation of stakeholders and decision making approach.
