Seaoil Philippines & BatStateU sign Deed of Donation for three-storey higher education building

Seaoil Philippines, Inc. Chief Operations Officer Mr. Stephen L. Yu and BatStateU President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo signed the Deed of Donation for the three storey higher education building of BatStateU Mabini on September 11, 2018. This was signed in the presence of Mabini Mayor Noel B. Luistro and BatStateU Mabini Executive Director Dr. Expedito V. Acorda at BatStateU Mabini, P. Niogan, Mabini, Batangas.

The donor, Seaoil Philippines, Inc., is one of the largest independent fuel companies in the Philippines founded in 1978. This company has allotted funds amounting to Php 24, 293, 052.00 for the construction of said building seated on a 40, 273 square meter property donated by the Municipality of Mabini. The building was named after Mr. Yu’s mother, Josefina L. Yu which is intended to provide different facilities and classrooms for students. The building houses twelve classrooms convertible to multi-purpose function halls.

After the ceremonial signing, Mayor Luistro took pride in sharing the municipality’s vision of establishing educational projects and programs for the benefit of young individuals. The establishment of BatStateU Mabini to him is a “dream come true” for the youth and the municipality as a whole. In his final words, the Municipal Mayor encouraged the students to regard the university as their second home, taking into their heart its values and policies.

Mr. Yu then inspired the students by sharing the legacy left by his parents. He even imparted his family’s dream of serving the nation in upholding quality education thru practicing the art of living with integrity, accountability and stewardship. The COO further expressed his gratefulness for making their dream possible.

President Ronquillo also took the stage to share his message of commitment to the Municipality of Mabini. He acknowledged the concerted efforts of Mayor Luistro, Vice Mayor Jun Villanueva and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Mabini that urged BatStateU to open a new campus in the municipality. The president also extended his gratitude and warm wishes to Mr. Yu and the Seaoil family.

At the end of the program, a plaque of recognition was awarded to Seaoil Philippines, Inc.

University officials and students with Vice Mayor Villanueva, Municipal Administrator Atty. Gerville Luistro, and guests from the Municipality of Mabini and Seaoil Philippines, Inc. graced the ceremony.
