BatStateU Faculty Researchers gathered at the 7th Floor of CIRTC Building, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City to attend the university’s first research bootcamp on August 9 organized by the Research Office. This activity aims to familiarize the participants on the university’s research services that will help them address the existing challenges of handling research projects.
The office invited heads and directors under the research department to discuss updates on research workflows, the university’s laboratory capabilities, available search engines and other resources, submittals, and required outputs. The speakers were Director for Research Dr. Romel U. Briones, Director for Research Management Services Dr. Shirley G. Cabrera, Asst. Director for Analytical Laboratory and Testing Services Asst. Prof. Anita P. Aquino, and Head for Innovation and Technology Support Office Dr. Leandro A. Dalhag.
In the opening program, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Services Assoc. Prof. Albertson D. Amante emphasized the need for improving the university’s research capabilities. He also shared his congratulatory message to the participants for making it to the final list of approved research projects.
A dialogue with the Director for Financial Services Mrs. Lolita M. Atienza, Asst. Director for Property and Supply Dr. Carmela S. Macatangay and representatives from the Budget and Procurement Offices was also held to guide the participants on the standard process of requesting for funds and applicable items/materials to be used in their research projects.
After the series of talks, a notice to proceed was awarded to each group of faculty researchers given by VP Amante and Dr. Briones. A total of 30 research proposals were approved for funding by the university’s governing board with 13 institutionally directed projects.
