BatStateU launches Wellness Center and Covered Pathway

Batangas State University held the inauguration ceremonies of its Wellness Center and covered pathway on May 30, 2018 at BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City. University officials, faculty members and employees witnessed the remarkable event led by President Tirso A. Ronquillo.

Driven by innovation for continuous improvement, the Wellness Center was built to promote a healthy and lively environment for the Red Spartan community. The 5-storey building is a facility shared by four major departments such as Infirmary, Sports, Culture and Arts, and Disaster Risk Management. With a total floor area of 2414.96 sq. m., the center will house rooms for rescue/first aid training, cultural, radiology, emergency, x-ray, lactation, isolation, massage/ therapy and other facilities like nutrition laboratory, fitness gym, offices, and a conference hall/ library.

On the other hand, the covered pathway installed with vertical green gardens, features an eco-friendly ambience in distinct areas.

During the ceremonies, President Ronquillo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the whole BatStateU team for making the event possible. The president even shared the purpose for the establishment of a wellness center, to boost the physical enhancement and development of the community.

The BatStateU Board of Regents also graced the event with the Chairperson-Designate, CHED Commissioner Lilian A. De Las Llagas.

“This building is a simple manifestation of a healthy living inside Batangas State University. Your enthusiasm and your love for the university are all manifestations of healthy people inside BatStateU” said Commissioner De Las Llagas as she inspires the officials.

The opening program was then followed by the blessing led by Rev. Fr. Gerald Macalinao.
