National SUC Presidents attend Inter-Agency Writeshop for Enhanced ROSSSS

Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) in cooperation with Civil Service Commission (CSC), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) held an inter-agency writeshop on the Enhanced Revised Organizational Structure and Staffing Standards for SUCs- State Universities and Colleges (ROSSSS) on May 2-3, 2018. PASUC National Officers, Regional Chairmen and officials from different SUCs and agencies were enjoined to attend the writeshop/meeting at Batangas Country Club, Batangas City.

The participants gathered at Batangas State University during the first day where PASUC and BatStateU President, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo acquainted the participants on what to expect during the two-day workshop, to finalize and harmonize all the comments from different agencies towards the final version of ROSSSS.

Using the 2016 SUC levelling instrument, the participants created the most appropriate and final model organizational structures for SUCs in accordance with its mandate, current operation and level/typology. In addition, they were able to come up with the final staffing pattern per SUC level after being equated with the standards, policies and rules of DBM and CSC on government positions and professionalization of administrative services.

The PASUC National Officers present during the event were President Ronquillo, Bicol University President, Dr. Arnulfo M. Mascariñas the VP for Luzon, Visayas State University President, Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin the VP for Visayas, Basilan State College President, Dr. Hji. Nasser A. Salain the VP for Mindanao, PASUC Executive Director, Dr. Herbert Glenn P. Reyes, PASUC Secretary-Treasurer, Ms. Delia G. Sauler, and PASUC Technical, Linkages and Partnerships Officer, Engr. Maria Gracia D. Cunanan.

On the last day of the writeshop, the participants were able to facilitate submission of the final and agreed version of ROSSSS which will serve as basis for SUCs in proposing for the necessary initial funding requirements for the possible inclusion on FY 2019 for its first year of implementation.
