Dedicated to provide quality service to its partner agencies and institutions, Batangas State University hosted the Technical Working Group Meeting of the Regional Research Committee on March 2, 2018 held at the 7th floor of the CALABARZON Integrated Research and Training Center Building, BatStateU Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City. The said meeting focused on the committee’s existing guidelines and proposed programs and activities for 2018.
Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, BatStateU President with Engr. Albertson D. Amante, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Services expressed their warmest greetings to the participating government agencies. President Ronquillo took the opportunity as well to acknowledge the undertakings and initiatives of the RRC-TWG members.
Ms. Luningning Llames of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA IV-A) gave thorough updates on the previously conducted RRC-TWG Meeting while Director Alexander Madrigal of Department of Science and Technology (DOST IV-A) led the discussion on Paper Evaluation Criteria.
One of the highlights during the meeting was the presentation of Mr. Myke Lavadia of NEDA IV-A on the upcoming Research and Statistics Forum to be held at BatStateU on October 18, 2018. As discussed, the proposed theme for the said forum will be “Innovations for Competitiveness” which will prioritize topics on Industry and Services, Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing, Infrastructure Development, Social Development, Governance, and Ecology and Environment. Committees were also created to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of the activity.
Furthermore, representatives from University of Rizal System (URS), Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office (DA-RFO IV-A), Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Environmental and Natural Resources- Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (DENR-ERDB), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) attended the meeting.
