ESO Conducts EPMR Committee Meeting

BatStateU’s Extension Services Office (ESO) held its 1st External Program Management Review (EPMR) Committee Meeting for year 2018 at the Conference Room, International Affairs Office, CITE Building, Pablo Borbon Main I, Batangas City on the 13th day of February. The meeting was planned to develop the guidelines and procedures pertaining to the Impact Assessment of the Adopt-A-Barangay Program of the office.

Experts who attended the event were Dr. Rowena dT. Baconguis, Director for Institute of Governance and Rural Development- University of the Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB); Dr. Maria Victoria O. Espaldon, Professor for School of Environment Science and Management- UPLB; Dr. Lydia S. Manguiat, Asst. Regional Director, Technical Operations- Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Region IV-A; Mr. Benjamin Roberto G. Barretto, VP for Planning, Research, and Extension- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina.

The University President, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo and VP for Research, Development and Extension Services, Engr. Albertson D. Amante expressed their deepest gratitude to the members of the committee for their unwavering commitment and dedication to ESO’s undertakings.

Meanwhile, Atty. Alvin R. De Silva, Director for Internal Audit, gave updates on the previously conducted EPMR Committee Meeting last March 27, 2017 while Asst. Prof. Armando V. Mendoza, Jr., Director for Extension Services presented the Accomplishment Report of Adopt-A-Barangay Program for 2014-2017 mentioning 5, 415 beneficiaries.

Trainings on livelihood, Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and basic education were implemented to strongly enhance the lives of the chosen communities.

The ten (10) Barangays identified as indigent by the provincial government of Batangas were  Barangay San Juan, Malvar, Batangas; Barangay Poctol, San Juan, Batangas; Barangay Catandaan, Nasugbu, Batangas; Barangay Patugo, Balayan, Batangas; Barangay Matamis, Rosario, Batangas; Barangay Bignay, Lobo, Batangas; Barangay Balintawak, Lipa City; Barangay Mahabang Dahilig, Lemery, Batangas; Barangay Talahib Pandayan and San Pedro, Batangas City. The implemented Programs, Activities and Projects (PAPs) provided the beneficiaries with the opportunities to become active and productive members of their communities.
