Inauguration of BatStateU JPLPC-Malvar College of Engineering and Computing Sciences (CECS) Building

As the Batangas State University motto states, Leading Innovations, Transforming Lives, the University continuously assures to provide conducive learning environment for the entire studentry.

Last October 20, 2017, Batangas State University (BatStateU) JPLPC-Malvar College of Engineering and Computing Sciences (CECS) Building has been unveiled to the Red Spartan community. The 5-storey building, equipped with an elevator, features different offices apart from the classrooms. The Office of the Dean and the Faculty room are located at the ground floor alongside 2 classrooms. The second floor houses the Office of the Executive Director beside 2 more classrooms. The third floor has the 2 computer laboratories and another classroom. The fourth and fifth levels have 3 classrooms on each floor.

As the program commenced, the doxology and singing of the Philippine National Anthem were led by The Levites, the university chorale of BatStateU JPLPC-Malvar. Dr. Expedito Acorda, the Executive Director of BatStateU Malvar and Lipa City campuses, delivered the Opening Remarks. This was followed by the marker unveiling ceremony led by Malvar Mayor Hon. Cristeta C. Reyes, BatStateU President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo together with Dr. Erma B. Quinay, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Atty. Luzviminda C. Rosales, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Prof. Romeo de Castro, Executive Director of BatStateU PB Main I, Batangas City and Lobo Campus, Dr. Expedito V. Acorda, Executive Director of BatStateU JPLPC-Malvar and Lipa City campuses, Dr. Amado C. Gequinto, Dean of Colleges, BatStateU JPLPC-Mlavar, Assoc. Prof. Antonio A. Gamboa, Director of Project Management Office, Asst. Prof. Jovito P. Permante, Director for Administrative and Financial Services of BatStateU JPLPC-Malvar and Lipa City campuses, Mr. Michael C. Lagaya, Director of Public Relations and Ms. Jenica Czarina Mendez, the BatStateU Student Regent.

BatStateU President Tirso A. Ronquillo delivered his inspirational message and mentioned the commendable efforts and collaboration of the different university offices towards the building completion. This was followed by the message of the Municipal Mayor of Malvar, Hon. Cristeta C. Reyes who has showed her unwavering support for this remarkable event.  After the inspirational message, the cutting of ribbon was led by the Municipal Mayor, BatStateU President and other University Officials.

Rev. Fr. Joel Villanueva led the blessing of the new CECS building followed by the traditional throwing of coins to signify continuous prosperity and good luck.

Dr. Amado C. Gequinto, Dean of Colleges of BatStateU JPLPC-Malvar, expressed his gratitude for this milestone in the campus in his closing remarks.

The program ended as The Levites and the BatStateU Marching Band sang the BatStateU Hymn.

Engr. Princes Joy Pera ad Mr. Ar-Jay Perez served as the Masters of Ceremonies.
