BatStateU supported NEDA IV-A in the conduct of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) Calabarzon Roadshow with the theme “Tayo nang Abutin ang Ambisyon Natin” on July 28, 2017 at Batangas Provincial Capitol, Batangas City. The Roadshow is part of the communication plan of the PDP. It aimed to broaden public awareness, generate the interest of the regional development stakeholders and the public on the PDP and assure their support in the attainment of the goals and objectives of the plan.
The event was composed of different activities starting with the parade, opening of the exhibit, medical/dental services, Sigaw ng Kabataan (cultural presentations and youth talks), press conference, meetings, parallel sessions on the three pillars-malasakit, pagbabago and pagunlad, and poster-making contest. Representatives from LGUs, RLAs, CSOs, SUCs and private/basic sectors participated in the said activities.
BatStateU JPLPC Malvar Band provided music while Extension Services Assistant Director Armando V. Mendoza Jr. served as the host during the parade and in the opening of the exhibit and services. Research, Development and Extension Services set-up a booth in the exhibit venue which showcased Research and Development services to the community. Also displayed were advocacy materials on program offerings, research undertakings, inventions and extension services of the University.
BatStateU Diwayanis Dance Theater and Rondalla provided a 15-minute cultural presentation/entertainment of dance, music and other forms of performing arts which expressed the aspirations of the youth as well as their commitment in attaining the Ambisyon Natin 2040 during the Sigaw ng Kabataan hosted by Mr. Michael Lagayan, a professor of BatStateU-CABEIHM.
BatStateU also co-hosted the Poster-Making Contest during the roadshow, particularly, the University provided the coloring materials to 36 participants from 18 schools-Junior and Senior High Category, from Batangas City. BatStateU-CAS faculty member, Mr. Jem Eiroll Manalo served as one of the judges.
University President Tirso A. Ronquillo, was invited to serve as moderator in one of the three learning sessions, on Pagbabago at PENRO-Batangas Conference Room.
