Ocean University of China Forges Collaboration with Batangas State University

     Batangas State University hosted a dinner for the officials of the Ocean University of China on April 18, 2017. The delegation composed of Mr.Huajun Li, Vice President and Professor in Ocean Engineering, Mr. Qi Li, Dean of Fisheries, Mr.Yunxiang Mao, Associate Dean of College of Marine Life Sciences, Mr.Yirong Luo, Associate Dean of College of Marine Life Sciences, Mr. Yirong Luo, Associate Dean of College of Liberal Arts, Journalism and Communication, Ms.Wenhong Song, Director of International Office, Mr. Dongliang Zheng, Program Assistant of International Office and Mr. Philip Shao visited the University to discuss possible collaboration and tie-ups. The Vice President for External Affairs and ICT Services, Prof. Rogelio A. Antenor together with the other University officials welcomed the delegates and dined with them.

    On April 19, 2017, Dr.Tirso A. Ronquillo withDr. Erma B. Quinay, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Atty. Luzviminda C. Rosales, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Engr. Albertson Amante, Vice President for Research Development and Extension Services and Prof. Rogelio A. Antenor, Vice President for External Affairs and ICT Services and other University Officials met the Ocean University of China delegation to formally present the focus of the partnership. Mr.Yirong Luo, presented the establishment of Confucius Institute in the University. Confucius Institute is a non-profit public educational organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China that aims to promote Chinese language and culture, support local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitate cultural exchanges. Other means of collaboration were also discussed such as the twinning program and research studies focusing on marine biodiversity.

     The delegates also visited the Verde Island for their future research endeavour.
