Batangas State University celebrated its 16th Charter day on April 11, 2017 at Gov. Feliciano “Sanoy” Leviste Memorial Multi-Purpose Gymnasium Main Campus I. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Converging the ASEAN Community in Fostering Global Education”.
In his State of the University Address, the University President, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, highlighted the success and accomplishments of the University from 2014-2017 in the areas of instruction, research, extension and management of resources. He even shared to the BatStateU community the future endeavours the University will undertake to provide the learners of the quality service that they well deserve.
The address of Dr. Ronquillo was immediately followed by the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) between the Municipality of Mabini and BatStateU in relation to the establishment of BatStateU extension campus in the said Municipality represented by Atty. Gerville Luistro, Vice Mayor Pablo M. Villanueva and members of the Sanguniang Bayan. BatStateU Faculty Confederation and the BatStateU Management signed the MOA for the Collective Negotiation Agreement. The Faculty Confederation was represented by its President, Dr. George Compasivo,
The Search for Outstanding Faculty and Employee was also launched and presented by Prof. Rogelio A. Antenor, Vice President of External Affairs and ICT Services. The criteria and other necessary information relative to the search were discussed. Through this, faculty and employee who passionately serve the University and personifying its core values will be given due recognition, may have another reason to excel in their field and become more competent in their career.
Moreover, the awarding of the 2017 Ten Outstanding Students Awards was concluded. The Office of Student Affairs and Services headed by Dr. Lucille Evangelista recognized the students for their meritorious performance. Ms. Victorious Lois Lualhati from the College of Arts and Sciences, a BS Development Communication student, ranked first among the ten student awardees.
In the afternoon, an orientation and forum on National Budget Circula 461 was facilitated by Dr. Jessie A. Montalbo, Director for NBC Zonal Center. This aimed to shed light to the questions and clarifications of the faculty and employees of the University regarding NBC 461 evaluation.
